Afro Market — B2B Trade Marketplace
A multilingual B2B marketplace built in Next.js connecting African producers with global buyers across 50+ countries.
Afro Market is a B2B trade marketplace operated under EFG Hub (Enterprise of the Future Generation) connecting African producers, farmers, exporters and artisans with retailers, importers, distributors and restaurants in more than fifty countries. The platform handles verified suppliers, product catalogues, quote requests, secure payments, export documentation and end-to-end logistics.
The front-end is a Next.js application built for two very different audiences sharing one codebase. Buyers need fast, trustworthy product discovery — clean category pages, supplier verification cues, RFQ flows. Suppliers need a different experience entirely — listing management, inquiry inboxes, order tracking. The site is structured so each audience gets a tailored journey while sharing the same design system and authentication layer.
Performance and internationalisation were the two biggest engineering priorities. The platform supports English and Arabic with full RTL handling. Image-heavy product pages are tuned with the Next.js image pipeline, route-level data fetching is cached aggressively, and the whole stack is wired to scale as new product categories and supplier countries come online. Companion mobile apps for buyers and suppliers extend the experience beyond the web.
This is the kind of project where the website is not a brochure — it is the actual product, and every interaction has to feel as solid as the trade transactions running through it.
